Service Description: Data Source of these layers are from USGS study https://pubs.er.usgs.gov/publication/ofr20171140 There are 7 layers incorporated into this map. The States layer is designed to show the surrounding states of West Virginia. The Designated Counties layer is used to depict the 12 counties affected in the June 2016 flood. The Populated Places feature class shows all the cities in West Virginia. Finally, the High Water Mark Study Areas feature class is designed to show which areas were studied where the water was higher than usual. The Stream Gages feature class represents where the stream gages were located. The NHDArea feature class shows the location of the waterways.
