The feature polygons within this dataset represent the geographical locations of oil and gas fields within the Appalachian Basin. Each feature is attributed with general geological data attributes. Supplemental data in the form of a table was received from Gas Atlas Database. This table of individual well data contained longitude and latitude coordinates which were used to create XY events in ArcMap and then exported to a feature class. The XY events were then intersected with the polygon feature class in order to obtain attribute information. Attribute information was added to the following fields: SALINITY_TDS, DEPTH_FT, POROSITY_PSI, TEMPERATURE_F, POROSITY_PCT, PERMEABILITY_mD, THICKNESS_FT. There are 9647 polygons. 164 polygons were deleted from original feature class because no depth information was available. |
